He was born Elijah Jordon Wood on January 28th 1981. His first nickname was Sparkplug, thanks to his endless energy (reminds me of my brother). His mother Deborah enrolled him in a talent school while he was in kindergarten, hoping to find an outlet for his energy. He really stood out, and moved to LA 6 months later with his mother and his brother Zack, where he was signed by an agent. His younger sister Hannah and father Warren followed them later. His first speaking role was in Back to the Future 2 and was extremley small (his first role in general was in a Paula Abode music video). From there, things just went up, leading to Avalon, Radio Flyer, Flipper, and Huckleberry Finn. Skipping high school altogether (lucky him!!!!), he was tutored onset.
While filming the facutly in 1998, he heard of Lord of the Rings, and got together with his director friend to film an audition tape of him goofing off in a forest with friends, pretending to be hobbits. He was snatched up, and all the rest is hobbithistory.
He is just finished filimg Try Seventeen with Franka Potente and Mandy Moore, and is in the middle of filming Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind with Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet.
